It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Sorry about that - I’ve been making a very long book (that actually got a little longer, but hey…) Did I mention that book is now finished?
Yes, Wild Nature is complete. 288 pages all in, a truly epic conclusion, and the brightest colours I’ve ever worked with. It’s getting a final proofread and then it’s off to the printer at the end of the month.
It’s been so much fun, and I’m mostly just excited about seeing what you think of it. :)
It’s kind of like Rabbit giving you a boot to the face, with a little…
Of Swan feeling a little battered. Or how I felt after two glasses of wine the morning after.
Genuinely, this book gives me so much joy to read through. A few little tweaks to get the print files all set up and a bit of boring admin, but I’m almost there. I’ll be sad that it’s over!
In other comics news - HER HARDBOILED HEART. I had a burst of inspiration a couple of weeks ago, and wrote the entire first draft of the script. 90 pages of espionoir, rebooting my noir short that inspired the very cool movie, To A Cinder.
I’ll be heading to its official premiere at the end of September, down in London, and I can’t wait to finally meet the cast in person. Or to find out when you might be able to see it as well.
Back to the comic: soon as Wild Nature hits the printer, I’ll be working on HHH, so you might see that by summer next year.
Okay, that’s all from me. Hope you’re good!
Amazing news David! Can’t imagine how good that feels! It’s a truly great project, can’t wait for the final act. And would love to learn more about the movie thing, maybe you’ve gone into it before and can guide me there, but would love to know how that came to be. Looking like a big second half of 2023!
